Meet Dianne Macaulay – Dedicated to Students, Families, and Public Education

For over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a Trustee with Red Deer Public Schools. My journey began when my children first started school — I wanted to be more involved in the decisions shaping their education and the opportunities available to all students. Two decades later, that same passion for student success and strong public education continues to guide me every day.

As the current Vice Chair of the Red Deer Public School Division, I’m proud to work alongside incredible educators, central office staff, and superintendents who put students first. Together, we’ve built a division that values inclusion, equity, and excellence in learning.

Beyond Red Deer, I’ve represented our region as a Director for Zone 4 of the Alberta School Boards Association and served on several provincial committees focused on advocacy and public school funding — because every child in Alberta deserves access to a high-quality, well-supported public education.

My commitment to community has been recognized with the Women of Excellence Award in the Community Builder category — an honour that reflects not just my efforts, but the strength and spirit of the people I serve.

After living in Red Deer for over 30 years and raising three children who all attended Red Deer Public Schools, I’ve seen firsthand how strong schools build strong communities. I remain deeply committed to advocating for the needs of our students, supporting our staff, and ensuring that public education remains a priority for our future.
